Tourist Attractions
Being the capital city of Gujarat, Gandhinagar is located approximately 23 kilometers north of Ahmedabad (India’s first heritage city by UNESCO). It lies on the western bank of River Sabarmati which flows at a distance of 464 kilometers from Mumbai. The city attracts a large number of tourists every year. The tourist places include Hanuman Temple, Swaminarayan Temple, Akshardham Temple, Adalaj Step Well, Science City, Gandhi Ashram at Sabarmati, Kankariya Lake, Deer Park and Craftsmen Village. Gandhinagar presents a wide range of hotels to its visitors.
Statue of Unity
The Statue of Unity is a colossal statue of Indian statesman and independence activist Vallabhbhai Patel (1875–1950), who was the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of independent India and an adherent of Mahatma Gandhi during the nonviolent Indian Independence movement. Patel was highly respected for his leadership in uniting 562 princely states of India with a major part of the former British Raj to form the single Union of India. The statue is located in the state of Gujarat, India. It is the world's tallest statue with a height of 182 meters (597 feet). It is located on the Narmada River in the Kevadiya colony, facing the Sardar Sarovar Dam, 200 kms from Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
The lake City, Udaipur
Udaipur, also known as the "City of Lakes", is a city in the state of Rajasthan, India. It is the historic capital of the kingdom of Mewar in the former Rajputana Agency. It was founded in 1558 by Uday Singh II of the Sisodia clan of Rajput. The city is located in the southernmost part of Rajasthan, near the Gujarat border. It is surrounded by the Aravalli Range, which separates it from the Thar Desert. It is around 240 kms from Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
